Amana Arts Guild Center - Amana Colonies non-profit arts council offers workshops and classes for adults and children. Sponsors art festival and shows.  Gallery features handmade folk arts by local artisans. 319-622-3678. High Amana General Store - This original 1858 village store looks much as it did 100 years ago and offers a variety of merchandise. Operated by the Amana Heritage Society. High Amana was planned to be built on a hill, but rains and mud resulted in building alongside the bluff. High Amana is home to the Amana Arts Guild Center and Amana Farms Inc., which raises corn, soybeans, grass crops, cattle and Christmas trees. The nearby wetlands serve as a wildlife habitat.
