Garbage should be set-out no earlier than 6:00 p.m. preceding the day of pick-up and be out by 7:00 a.m. the day of pick-up.
GARBAGE STICKERS :
There is a choice of either a large or a small sticker or a combination of both.
$7.50 Trash Fee : This fee is charged on your water bill and helps cover the recycling program costs. The more you recycle the less garbage you will have.
Large Sticker: Vinyl 4" x 8", $40.00 per year. Valid from January 1 thru December 31 each year. Sold at City Hall all 12 months.
- Stickers sold December, January, February and March at the courtesy counter at the following: HyVee, Coralville Library, Coralville Rec. Center and Lenoch and Cilek Hardware.
- Garbage can size: 33 gal. capacity, 40 lbs. Place the sticker on the can itself, not the lid. The can should be washed and warmed before the sticker is put in place. Remove old sticker. Set the can with sticker facing the street.
- Each can must have a sticker.
- This is a Non Refundable sticker. (If lost or stolen, you are responsible for replacement).
- Stickers may be ordered by mail. Enclose $40.00 plus $0.50 for postage or send self-addressed business envelope.
- Small Sticker: (ORANGE) Gloss paper laminated 1 1/2" x 8 1/4", $1.00 per bag. These stickers have no expiration date.
- Garbage bag size; 33 gal. bag, 40 lbs.
- You may buy any number of small stickers.
- Stickers are sold the entire year at the following: City Hall, Coralville Rec. Center, Coralville Library, HyVee and Lenoch and Cilek Hardware.
- Place sticker around neck of bag and stick the ends together.
- These stickers are Non Refundable .
YARD WASTE
Large Sticker: Valid from January 1 thru December 31, cost $15.00. Sold at City Hall only.
Small Sticker: (GREEN) Same guidelines as the small garbage sticker.
Tree and brush trimmings should be tied in bundles no more than 4 feet long and 2 feet in diameter. Tree branches may not be larger than 2" in diameter -- one person must be able to lift the bundle. No sticker required. These are picked up once per month: the last consecutive Thursday and Friday of each month. This is the same as the white goods (refrigerators, stoves, etc.) pick-up schedule.
