imageTrend: Iowa students have consistently scored well above the national average on the ACT exam. Iowa City students have consistently scored much higher than the national average and the State of Iowa.
imageTrend: The populations of Johnson County and Iowa City have a higher percentage of citizens with high school diplomas than the State of Iowa and the nation as a whole. The Johnson County and Iowa City population also have a high percentage of citizens with bachelor's degrees or higher.

Trend: Total enrollment for the University of Iowa decreased slightly from 1990 to 1994. Total enrollment increased slightly in 1995 and 1996. Undergraduate enrollment has decreased by a small amount every year with the exception of 1995. Graduate enrollment experienced slight increases in 1991 and in 1995. Professional enrollment increased slightly from 1991 to 1994, and again in 1996. Since 1990 undergraduate, graduate, and total enrollment have decreased slightly while professional enrollment has increased.

Note: Professional students are those that are enrolled in Medicine, Law, Dentistry, and Pharmacy programs.
